In Diablo 4 Season 5, the meta has changed, and there are new top-tier builds for players to use. Every season has been slightly different, and while there are always some familiar builds in the top cut, they usually shift and get stronger or weaker as the seasons go on. While this Season is still developing, and the meta will likely shift and change again, these are the best builds currently known.
Season 5 is full of new unique items and rewards, giving you different boosts and powers. There are great new Mystic items and Legendaries that can defeat many different bosses. However, this gear will work better for different classes, and these classes and builds might determine how well you perform in Season 5.

Diablo 4 Season 5 Leveling Guide
Getting all the way leveled up in a new season of Diablo 4 can be a challenge, but there are tips and tricks to make this grind easier and faster.
7 Necromancer Minion Build
Good For Leveling
This build is still a decent way to clear levels and get to higher levels faster. Unfortunately, the Necromancer class seems to have fallen out of favor this Season overall despite being one of the top-tier classes last Season. See YouTuber SKULM for an example of this build when it was still at its peak.
Despite falling out of favor, it is still notable that this build is able to do a lot of damage and leveling. However, the Necromancer class has gotten a lot slower overall this season, struggling to keep pace as it gets to higher levels and not being able to take on the hordes of Lilith in quite the same way. Still, it is quite fun and can still get you a fair way on your journey.
This list is based on the extensive research of YouTuber Rob2628, who has a full spreadsheet of class builds available.

6 Landslide Druid
DPS Druid Build
Not many Druid builds have made it into the top tier this Season despite the Werenado Druid in Diablo 4 build becoming extremely popular. This build does a lot of damage very quickly, popping off enemies before they can even try to attack you. It moves fast and can clear high-level Pits that other builds may struggle with, as you can see in Rob2628’s own video.
Rob refers to this build as the AK-47 build, as you can hear what sounds like the sound of an assault weapon consistently as enemies are hit again and again. Even at a lower level and without the highest level gear and skills, this build was still taking out bosses and enemies without much problem in a World Tier IV Level 100 Pit.

5 Direct Bash Barbarian
Billions of Direct Damage
While the Whirlwind Barbarian was originally set to take over the scene in Season 5, the estimation has changed a little, and now YouTuber Rob2628 puts this as the highest-rated Barbarian build for this Season. It deals a lot of damage all at once without doing other forms of passive damage.
Without doing anything else, Rob consistently hits the training dummy with regular strikes and deals billions of direct damage without any sort of ping. It is consistent, and the extra overpower damage amount on this build is crazy.

After this point, the builds will be focused on Rogue and Sorcerer, which have been hotly contested as the two best-ranked classes this Season. Multiple builds have popped up for both of them, and a lot of math and numbers are being run to determine which is the best. Currently, it is still very early, and while initial research has favored Sorcerer, there is a good argument to say that it is actually Rogue.
4 Fire Bolt Sorcerer
Shard of Verathiel
While this build got a little nerfed early on, perhaps due to its early dominance, it is still a very strong build despite that, as seen in Mekuna's YouTube video. The key to this build is the Shard of Verathiel, a unique Sword that increases the damage done by Basic Skills. Similarly, you could run Fireball to get through the early leveling to take down a lot of enemies and bosses before leaning into this build as you progress further.
While some of the other mentioned builds do better late game, this is one that might work well earlier with lower-level gear before adjusting your strategy as you level up and start to collect all of Mother's Gifts this Season. This is because there is one more Sorcerer build yet to come, and it does even more damage and is considered an S-tier build.

How To Get The Ring Of Misfortune In Diablo 4
One of the rarest items in Diablo 4 is the Ring of Misfortune, which can only be found once you and several other players get together in one spot.
3 Rapid Fire Rogue
Umbracrux
The Rogue seems to have a fairly high ceiling this season, and players will likely continue figuring out how to abuse this class as time passes. This particular build has some burst potential that has remained strong despite a nerf for the Caltrops that previously made this build great. However, the Umbrocrux is what makes up for this nerf and keeps this an S-tier build.
The Umbracrux is a unique dagger with strong scaling, dexterity, and some tricks up its sleeve. It also buffs your Subterfuge Skills by creating Shade Totems. These deal out damage as they receive it, and it counts as a Trap Skill, which you can buff in other ways. The credit for this build is given to a few different creators, one of which is YouTuber M1PY.

2 Andariel Rogue
The Cornerstone Of Rogue Builds
Andariel’s Visage is one of the main things making Rogue builds S-tier this Season. This is a Mythic Unique item, which means a lot of players might not be able to get it until later on and may not be as realistic for the vast majority of them, as pointed out by RageGamingVideos. This is what makes it second as opposed to first on this list.
However, if you manage to get it, Andariel’s Visage gives you an extra life, a high Attack Speed, a lot of Resistance, and a Lucky Hit ability to apply a nova of Poison Damage. This improves any other Poison damage, and you should employ other Poison skills to take advantage of this.
If you do not yet have Andariel's Visage or do not think you will, the previous build is so close in ranking that you do not have to worry about this one as much. While it is slightly better, you will be no worse off and can get to the more perfected version of that build a little faster.

1 Lightning Spear Sorcerer
Top Meta Build
This build currently rests at the top of the Meta, and it is a Sorcerer build, and it rests near the top of several of the lists of creators shown earlier in the list. This build works because it both protects you and keeps you from being killed, and it has a lot of damage coming from two places: the Lightning Spear and the new Aspect in Season 5 called Splintering Energy. This build has also been credited to YouTuber Mekuna, among others.
Together, these two damage dealers are the workhorse, and you will be reliant on these to get you through the game. This is partially why you may not need all the high-level gear you could have, although that gear does not hurt. With this Sorcerer build, you will be high-flying in Season 5 of Diablo 4 with no bosses or mobs to stop you.
