Spending rewards
1. Bonus cash back on dining and entertainment
On both Savor cards, food-centric ongoing cash-back rewards are the stars of the show:
The Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card earns 4% cash back on dining, entertainment and streaming services, 3% cash back at grocery stores and 1% on all other purchases.
The Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card earns 3% cash back on dining, entertainment, streaming services and grocery stores and 1% on all other purchases.
🤓Nerdy Tip
As of May 2021, both the Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card and Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card earn 3% cash back at grocery stores (previously 2%). In addition, both cards got a boost in rewards for eligible streaming services, to 4% and 3%, respectively. Previously, streaming services did not count as entertainment and were classified with "everything else," earning just 1% back.
These bonus categories are especially tantalizing because Capital One's definitions of “dining and entertainment” are relatively broad. According to the issuer:
Dining includes purchases made at restaurants, cafes, bars, lounges, fast-food chains and bakeries.
Entertainment includes purchases made at movie theaters, certain live sports events, certain theater productions, amusem*nt parks, tourist attractions, aquariums, zoos, dance halls, record stores, pool halls or bowling alleys.
The cards also don’t have any minimum redemption requirements. That means you can redeem cash back in any amount.
