What is the deadline to apply to Syracuse University? ›

Regular Decision

To have the best opportunity to be notified of an admission decision in late March, be sure to complete all admissions requirements (including auditions and portfolio reviews) by the required deadlines. The deadline for Regular Decision is Jan. 5.

To be considered for admission to our programs, you should have at the time of application a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and be in good academic standing.

Transfer applications will be accepted on a space available basis after November 15 for spring enrollment. Although the transfer application deadline for the fall semester is July 1, we encourage you to apply earlier.

The GPA requirements for getting into Syracuse are to have around a 3.69 high school GPA. You are required to have very good grades in high school. If your high school GPA meets these requirements, there is a good chance you will be accepted as Syracuse accepts 52% of students who apply.

(Most schools use a weighted GPA out of 4.0, though some report an unweighted GPA. With a GPA of 3.75, Syracuse University requires you to be above average in your high school class. You'll need at least a mix of A's and B's, with more A's than B's.

The official deadline is midnight on the actual day that the application is due. So if the deadline is November 1, you have until nearly November 2 to submit the application.

Syracuse University has an acceptance rate of 52%. Half the applicants admitted to Syracuse University who submitted test scores have an SAT score between 1260 and 1430 or an ACT score of 28 and 32. However, one quarter of admitted applicants achieved scores above these ranges and one quarter scored below these ranges.

Final Admissions Verdict

Scoring at a 1310 SAT or above will already give you a great shot at getting in. Scoring a 1410 will nearly guarantee you admission, given that your GPA is roughly the average of 3.75.

If you think you missed a deadline for a good reason, it's okay to ask the admissions office if you can still apply. You just might get another chance. And if you missed the deadline for your number-one school, keep in mind that there's always next year.
